11 Nov 2024 | Things are getting really bad – 9th month of Food Aid delivered to the most needy in the village

FoodAid Deliveries

Things are getting really bad as the villagers await the coming of the rains, which should be at the end of November. When he arrived with fresh supplies, our trustee, Happiness, found this elderly lady in her hut. She had collected dry marula fruits, hoping to pound them into a powder and use them in some way as food. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have again managed to feed the villagers in most need this month. This is the ninth successive Food Aid delivery. The cattle are now unable to find even dry leaves to eat and are dying from the drought.

Trustee Thabani “Happiness” Mnkandla writes:

“I went to distribute the groceries to the needy. I did door-to-door deliveries to some elderly people. What pained most is the old lady I found crushing marula fruit trying to make some powder or butter, which is a sign of how desperate the people are. You are doing a great job and the people are thankful. Thank you so much, and God bless you all.”
