Our BIG news is the successful gaining of the important Memorandum of Understanding with Hwange Rural District Council (HRDC) following a PowerPoint presentation collated by our new Zimbabwe (Zim) trustee, Benard Phiri and presented by our Trustee Thabani “Happiness” Mnkandla. Benard made a preliminary presentation of a complex summary of our work so far, prepared by VFA, to representatives in Victoria Falls, who then suggested adjustments for the second presentation just 3 days later, in Hwange. We have been encouraged by the complimentary feedback from HRDC and also by the knowledge that we will be working with their support and blessings.
Meanwhile, our PVO application is registered and lodged with the relevant Ministry. We thank our solicitor, the redoubtable Tsungirirai Marufu, for her tireless support in a highly complex task.
We have a new Trustee in the UK – Pearl Olsen, who has already been appointed as liaison officer with the Zim team. We are delighted to welcome our two new, highly skilled Trustees. Their CVs will be available to read on this site.
Assistance Wanted:
We are still seeking assistance in fundraising research. Even a few hours a month would make all the difference to us.
