Gary explains the concept behind the Fund’s creation :
My father, Michael Italiaander, was the youngest British war artist (at the time he began the work) and went on to have a glittering career as the Creative Director of various large advertising agencies. He created the posters for the Royal Tournament that were displayed throughout the London Underground and was known internationally for his work as an Illustrator.
His painting of HRH Prince Edward as pageboy at Princess Anne’s marriage to Captain Mark Phillips, hangs in the Private Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace, following HM Queen Elizabeth II’s request to view it there.
